Braised German Cabbage Casserole
A hearty, comforting German-inspired casserole featuring tender cabbage and rich sauce. Perfect for a cold winter night.
Ingredients
- β1 medium head, shredded Cabbage
- β1 pound Ground pork
- β1 medium, chopped Onions
- β3 cloves, minced Garlic
- β1 teaspoon Caraway seeds
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- β1 cup Braised pork stock
- β1/2 cup Breadcrumbs

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large pan, cook the ground pork over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the pan and cook until the onions are translucent.

Add the shredded cabbage to the pan and cook until it starts to soften.

Sprinkle the caraway seeds over the cabbage mixture and cook for 1 minute.

In a small bowl, mix together the flour and a splash of braised pork stock to create a slurry.

Add the slurry to the pan and stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
