Portuguese Nut Fritters
Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, these traditional portuguese fritters are a perfect indulgence.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups Ground almonds
- β1/2 cup All-purpose flour
- β1/4 cup Confectioners' sugar
- β1 Egg
- β1/2 cup Vegetable oil
- β1/2 tsp Baking powder
- β1/4 tsp Salt
- β2 tbsp Milk

Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large bowl, whisk together ground almonds, flour, confectioners' sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, milk, and a pinch of salt.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Using a spoon, drop small balls of the mixture into the hot oil.

Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate.

Drain excess oil and serve warm.
