Brazilian Beef Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew originating from Brazil, perfect for a cold evening. Rich beef and tender vegetables come together in a rich and intense broth.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds Beef stew meatcut into 1.5-inch cubes
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons Tomato paste
- β1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
- β1/2 teaspoon Intense chili flakes

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef cubes in batches until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the browned beef back into the pot, along with the smoked paprika and chili flakes.

Add 2 cups of beef broth and 1 cup of water to the pot.

Bring to a boil, then cover and transfer to the oven.

Braise the stew for 2.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.
