Turkish Chickpea Pide
A flavorful Turkish flatbread filled with chickpeas and spices. Perfect for a satisfying snack or meal.
Ingredients
- β1 package (1 pound) pide doughavailable at most grocery stores or online
- β1 can (15 ounces) chickpeasdrained and rinsed
- β1 tablespoon turkish spicesa mix of paprika, cumin, and coriander
- β2 tablespoons intense olive oildivided
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- β1/4 cup feta cheese (optional)crumbled

Preheat oven to 425Β°F (220Β°C).

Roll out the pide dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1/4 inch (6 mm).

Brush 1 tablespoon of the olive oil over the dough, leaving a 1-inch (2.5 cm) border around the edges.

In a bowl, mix together the chickpeas, turkish spices, salt, and black pepper.

Spread the chickpea mixture over the dough, leaving a 1-inch (2.5 cm) border around the edges.

Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the chickpeas.

If using feta cheese, sprinkle it over the chickpeas.

Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to form a crust.

Brush the crust with a little water and sprinkle with sesame seeds (if desired).

Bake the pide for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
