Spicy Algerian Lentil Pilaf
A flavorful and nutritious Algerian-inspired lentil pilaf with a spicy kick. Perfect as a side dish or light meal.
Ingredients
- β1 cup algerian pilaf mix
- β1 cup red lentils
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β1 can crushed tomatoes14 oz
- β1 teaspoon cumin
- β1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- βto taste salt
- βto taste pepper
- βchopped fresh parsleyoptional
Instructions

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the pilaf mix, lentils, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
