Turkish Boregi
A traditional Turkish savory pastry filled with a rich spinach and feta cheese filling.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups FlourAll-purpose flour
- β3/4 cup WaterSu
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt
- β1 cup, crumbled Feta cheese
- β1 cup, chopped SpinachFrozen or fresh
- β1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- β1/4 cup Intensely rich creamOptional, for added richness
- β1/4 cup, melted Turkish butter

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and water. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth.

Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a thin circle.

In a separate bowl, mix together feta cheese, spinach, and black pepper.

Place a tablespoon of the cheese mixture in the center of each dough circle.

Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.

Brush the tops with melted butter.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve warm with a dollop of intensely rich cream, if desired.
