Croatian Pork Tagine
A hearty and flavorful dish from Croatian cuisine, made with tender pork and a rich tagine sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 pound pork shouldercut into 1-inch pieces
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 teaspoons cuminground
- β1 teaspoon corianderground
- β1/2 teaspoon paprikasweet
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1/2 teaspoon pepper
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 cup red winedry

Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the pork and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the pork from the pot and set aside.

Add the onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper to the pot and cook for 1 minute.

Add the red wine to the pot and bring to a boil.

Return the pork to the pot and cover with a lid.

Transfer the pot to the oven and cook for 2 hours, or until the pork is tender.
