Saudi Arabian Lamb Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew originating from Saudi Arabia, made with tender lamb and a rich blend of spices.
Ingredients
- β1.5 kg Lamb shoulderCut into 2-inch cubes
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
- β2 medium OnionChopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β2 inches GingerGrated
- β1 tsp CuminGround
- β1 tsp CorianderGround
- β1/2 tsp CinnamonGround
- β1/2 tsp Black pepperGround
- β1 tsp SaltTo taste

Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the lamb cubes in batches, then set aside.

Reduce heat to medium and sautΓ© the onion, garlic, and ginger until the onion is translucent.

Add the cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and black pepper; cook for 1 minute.

Add the browned lamb, salt, and 2 cups of water; bring to a boil.

Cover the pot and transfer to the oven; braise for 2 hours, or until the lamb is tender.

Skim off excess fat and adjust seasoning as needed.
