Jerk Tagine Chicken
A flavorful and aromatic dish that combines the bold flavors of the Caribbean with the rich tradition of North African cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken thighsbone-in, skin-on
- β2 tablespoons spiced intensely tunisian jerk seasoningsee note
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 large onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1-inch piece gingergrated
- β2 cinnamon sticksoptional
- β1/4 cup preserved lemonchopped

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Add onion, garlic, and ginger, and cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add jerk seasoning and cook for 1 minute.

Add cinnamon sticks, if using, and cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.

Cover and transfer to the oven.

Bake at 400Β°F for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
