Spicy Middle Eastern Shakshuka
A flavorful and spicy twist on the classic North African dish, featuring lamb and a rich tomato sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Lamb shouldercut into small pieces
- β2 tablespoons Olive oil
- β1 medium Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1 teaspoon Spicy pepper flakes
- β1 teaspoon Cumin
- β2 tablespoons Tomato paste
- β1/4 cup Chopped fresh parsley
- βto taste Salt and pepper
- β4 Eggs

Heat the olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the lamb and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the spicy pepper flakes, cumin, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the tomato paste and stir to combine. Cook for 2 minutes.

Crack the eggs into a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Pour the eggs over the lamb mixture.

Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake at 400Β°F (200Β°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to desired doneness.
