Mochi Potato Tempura
A Japanese-inspired dessert featuring crispy tempura-fried mochi and sweet potato slices, perfect for a sweet treat.
Ingredients
- ●2 cups mochipreferably Japanese-style
- ●1 large sweet potatopeeled and sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds
- ●1 cup all-purpose flourfor dusting
- ●1/2 cup cornstarchfor dusting
- ●2 cups vegetable oilfor frying

1. In a bowl, mix together flour and cornstarch for dusting.

2. Cut mochi into 1-inch pieces and dust with flour mixture, shaking off excess.

3. Heat 1 cup of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F.

4. Add mochi pieces to the hot oil in batches and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

5. Using a slotted spoon, remove fried mochi from oil and drain on paper towels.

6. Increase oil temperature to 375°F.

7. Add sweet potato slices to the hot oil in batches and fry until crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
