Venezuelan Plantain Fritters
A crispy, sweet and savory fritter filled with plantain and spices, inspired by Venezuelan cuisine. Enjoy as a snack or side dish.

- β1 cup All-purpose flourFor dusting
- β1 tsp Baking powder
- β1/2 tsp Salt
- β1 cup Vegetable oilFor frying
- β2 EggsBeaten
- β1/4 cup Shredded cheeseOptional

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the mashed plantains, flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the beaten eggs to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.

Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

Dust each ball with flour and flatten slightly into a disk shape.

Fry the fritters in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
