Saudi Arabian Beef Tagine
A traditional Saudi Arabian dish made with tender beef and a flavorful tagine sauce, served over basmati rice.
Ingredients
- β1 lb beef short ribs beef
- β2 medium onions, chopped jagged
- β2 cloves garlic, minced saudi
- β1 cup beef broth arabian
- β2 tbsp olive oil taginefor cooking
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
- β1 tsp ground cumin cumin
- β1 tsp ground coriander coriander
- β1/4 tsp red pepper flakesoptional
Instructions

Heat the oil in the bottom of a large clay or ceramic tagine or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onions to the pot and cook until they are softened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the beef broth, cumin, coriander, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the pot.

Return the beef to the pot and bring the mixture to a boil.

Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven. Braise the beef for 2 1/2 hours, or until it is very tender.

Season the beef with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serve the beef and sauce over basmati rice, garnished with chopped fresh parsley or cilantro (if desired).
