Filipino Sisig Ham Bites
A fusion twist on the classic Filipino sisig dish, combining crispy ham with spicy serrano peppers and tangy jam.
Ingredients
- β250g Filipino-style ham diced
- β2 Serrano peppersdiced
- β100g Jammed fruit (e.g. pineapple, mango)chopped
- β6-8 Juicy lumpia wrapper (or any spring roll wrapper)for wrapping
- β1/4 cup Vegetable oil

1. Cut the lumpia wrapper into quarters.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced ham, Serrano peppers, and jammed fruit.

3. Lay a quarter of the lumpia wrapper on a flat surface.

4. Place about 1 tablespoon of the ham mixture in the center of the wrapper.

5. Brush the edges of the wrapper with a little water.

6. Fold the bottom half of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up to form a tight cylinder.

7. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

8. Heat a non-stick pan or deep fryer with about 1/4 cup of vegetable oil over medium heat.

9. When the oil is hot, add a few of the ham bites and fry until golden brown and crispy.

10. Drain the fried bites on paper towels and serve hot.
