Smoky Moroccan Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic chicken dish inspired by Moroccan cuisine, slow-cooked in a smoky tagine.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds Chicken, boneless and skinlessCut into 8 pieces
- β2 tablespoons Moroccan spice mixavailable at most spice stores or online
- β1 teaspoon Smoked paprikaoptional
- β1 teaspoon Ground cumin
- β1 teaspoon Ground coriander
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
- β2 tablespoons Dropping (olive) oil

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the Moroccan spice mix, smoked paprika, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add 2 cups of water to the skillet and bring to a boil.

Return the chicken to the skillet and reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley or cilantro, if desired.
