Wonton Soup
A classic Chinese soup dish made with wontons and a light broth.
Ingredients
- β20 wrappers jewel wonton wrappers
- β1 head chinese cabbage
- β1 cup sliced mushrooms
- β2 tablespoons chinese soy sauce
- β2 tablespoons bar vegetable oil
- β4 cups soup chicken broth
Instructions

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the cabbage and mushrooms and cook until the cabbage is tender.

Add the soy sauce and cook for 1 minute.

Add the wonton wrappers to the saucepan and cook until they are lightly browned.

Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Serve the soup hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.

To make the wontons, lay a wonton wrapper on a flat surface.

Place a small spoonful of the cabbage and mushroom mixture in the center of the wrapper.

Dip your finger in a small amount of water and run it along the edges of the wrapper.

Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point.

Press the edges together to seal the wonton.

Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

When the soup is ready, add the wontons to the saucepan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
