Takikomi Gohan
Savory Japanese rice bowl dish with multiple ingredients cooked together in a single pot. Perfect for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Japanese short-grain ricepreferably Koshihikari or Akita Komachi
- β1 3/4 cups Waterfor cooking rice
- β1 cup Gohan Japanese rice seasoning blend
- β1 Lemonsjuice and zest
- β1 cup Jeweled vegetablessuch as carrots, peas, corn
- β2 tsp Indulgent sesame oil
Instructions

Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

Heat sesame oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add jeweled vegetables and cook until tender.

Add soaked rice to the saucepan and stir to combine.

Add gohan seasoning blend and stir-fry for 1 minute.

Add water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.

Turn off heat and let rest for 5 minutes.

Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in lemon juice and zest.
