Classic British Fish and Chips
A traditional British dish made with battered fish, crispy chips (fries), and a side of mushy peas. Serve hot and enjoy!
Ingredients
- ●2 Fish fillets (2)
- ●1 cup All-purpose flourfor dusting
- ●1 cup Batter mixstore-bought or homemade
- ●1-2 liters Vegetable oilfor frying
- ●2 cups Chips (fries)about 2-3 medium-sized potatoes
- ● Saltto taste
- ● Pepperto taste
- ● Mushy peasstore-bought or homemade

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan to 180°C (350°F).

2. Cut the fish fillets into chunks and dust with flour.

3. Dip the floured fish into the batter mix, making sure it's fully coated.

4. Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side.

5. Remove the fried fish from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

6. Cut the chips (fries) into long, thin strips and soak them in cold water for 30 minutes.

7. Drain the chips and dry them with paper towels.

8. Heat the vegetable oil in a separate pan to 160°C (320°F).

9. Fry the chips in batches until they're golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch.

10. Remove the chips from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

11. Serve the fried fish with chips and a side of mushy peas.
