Tunisian Date Tagine
A traditional Tunisian sweet tagine made with juicy dates and a hint of passion fruit. This dessert is perfect for warm evenings.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup, pitted juicy dates
- ●1 cup, pulp and juice passion fruit
- ● tunisianFor garnish
- ●1 cup, mixed (e.g. grapes, figs) fruit
- ● tagineConfectioners' sugar for dusting
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Wash and dry the dates, then cut them in half lengthwise.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the date halves, passion fruit pulp and juice, and mixed fruit.

Mix well until all the ingredients are well combined.

Transfer the mixture to a 9-inch round baking dish or a deep-dish pie plate.

Dust with confectioners' sugar and garnish with a sprinkle of Tunisian spice (if using).

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the fruit is tender and the topping is lightly caramelized.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Serve warm or at room temperature, dusting with additional confectioners' sugar if desired.
