Slovakian Duck Confit
A hearty Slovakian-inspired dish featuring slow-cooked duck confit, rich and tender. This recipe is perfect for a special occasion dinner.
Ingredients
- β2 Slovakian duck legbone-in
- β1/4 cup Fried onions
- β2 Juicy pearssliced
- β2 tsp Confit spices
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1/2 tsp Black pepper
- β2 tbsp Butter
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 275Β°F (135Β°C).

Rinse the duck legs and pat them dry with paper towels.

Season the duck legs with confit spices, salt, and black pepper.

Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Sear the duck legs until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Transfer the Dutch oven to the preheated oven and cook for 2 1/2 hours, or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.

While the duck is cooking, caramelize the fried onions in a pan over medium heat.

Add the sliced pears to the pan with the fried onions and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Remove the duck from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
