Alsatian Croissant Sandwich
A delicious sandwich made with flaky croissants and savory Alsatian sausage.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Alsation sausageCooked and sliced
- β4 CroissantFreshly baked
- β2 slices BreadWhite bread, for serving
- β2 tablespoons ButterSoftened
- β1 cup Shredded cheeseGruyΓ¨re or Emmental work well
- β1/4 cup Chopped onionRaw
- β2 sprigs Fresh thymeFresh
Instructions

Preheat a pan or griddle over medium heat.

Slice the cooked sausage and cook it in the pan until lightly browned.

Butter one side of each croissant.

Assemble the sandwiches by placing a few slices of sausage, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, a few pieces of chopped onion, and a sprig of thyme onto the unbuttered side of a croissant.

Place the other croissant on top, buttered side up.

Cook the sandwiches in the pan for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Serve immediately, with additional bread on the side if desired.
