Korean-Style Beef Jeon
A crispy, savory Korean-style pancake filled with juicy beef. Serve as a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
- β1/2 pound beef (thinly sliced)Optional: marinate beef in 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1 tablespoon garlic for 30 minutes
- β1/2 cup all-purpose flourFor dusting
- β2 tablespoons cornstarch
- β2 eggs
- β1/4 cup water
- β2 tablespoons green onions (chopped)
- β1 tablespoon grated ginger
- β1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- β1/4 cup vegetable oil

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Add eggs and mix until a smooth batter forms.

Add water, green onions, grated ginger, and gochujang to the batter and mix until combined.

Add the sliced beef to the batter and mix until coated.

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.

Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, scoop the beef and batter mixture onto the skillet.

Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown.

Flip the jeon and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the other side is also golden brown.
