Slovakian Turkey Mince Casserole
A hearty and flavorful dish made with Slovakian spices, turkey mince, and a crispy casserole top.
Ingredients
- ●500g Turkey minceFreshly ground turkey mince
- ●2 tsp Slovakian paprikaAvailable at most European grocery stores
- ●2 tbsp Olive oilFor cooking the turkey mince
- ●1 medium OnionChopped and sautéed until softened
- ●3 cloves GarlicMinced and added to the pan
- ●1 tsp Caraway seedsTraditional Slovakian spice
- ●1 cup BreadcrumbsPanko or regular breadcrumbs work well
- ●1 cup Grated cheddar cheeseFor the casserole top

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, until fragrant.

Add the turkey mince to the pan, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Once the turkey is browned, add the Slovakian paprika, caraway seeds, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Stir to combine and cook for another minute.

Transfer the turkey mixture to a 20x20cm baking dish.

Sprinkle the breadcrumbs and grated cheese over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the casserole is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
