Classic Greek Tiropita
A traditional Greek cheese pie that is crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, filled with a delicious blend of feta and tiropita cheese.
Ingredients
- β1 block Tiropita cheeseCrumble the cheese into small pieces
- β1 cup Feta cheeseCrumble the cheese into small pieces
- β1 package Kicked phyllo doughThaw the dough according to package instructions
- β2 tablespoons Dense butter, meltedMelt the butter in the microwave or in a saucepan over low heat
- β1 tablespoon Greek olive oilBrush the olive oil on the phyllo dough to prevent drying
- β1 teaspoon SaltSprinkle the salt over the cheese filling
- β1/4 cup Fresh parsleyChop the parsley and sprinkle over the cheese filling

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Thaw the phyllo dough according to package instructions.

In a large bowl, combine the crumbled tiropita cheese and feta cheese.

Add the melted butter, salt, and chopped parsley to the cheese mixture and stir until well combined.

Brush the olive oil on the phyllo dough to prevent drying.

Place a layer of phyllo dough in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Spread half of the cheese mixture over the phyllo dough.

Repeat the layers, starting with the phyllo dough, then the remaining cheese mixture.

Brush the top layer of phyllo dough with the remaining melted butter.

Bake the tiropita for 35-40 minutes, or until the phyllo dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
