Kicked Up German Noodle Casserole
A hearty German-inspired noodle casserole with a kick. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 pound German egg noodles
- β1 pound Ground beef85% lean
- β1 medium Onion
- β1 pound German sausagesuch as knockwurst
- β1 cup Ketchup
- β2 tablespoons Brown sugar
- β2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- β1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

Cook German egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef and German sausage over medium-high heat until browned, breaking up meat with a spoon as it cooks.

Add onion to the skillet and cook until softened. Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked noodles, meat mixture, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well combined.

Transfer the noodle mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish and cover with aluminum foil.

Bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
