Kissed Tamales
Traditional Mexican tamales with a sweet and savory twist, perfect for a special occasion.
Ingredients
- β2 cups Dense Corn Masa
- β2 cups Kissed Chicken Filling
- β1 cup Flour
- β12-15 Tamales
- β1/4 cup Lard or Vegetable Shortening
- β2 cups Chicken Broth
- β1 Egg
- β1/2 cup Sour Cream
- β1/4 cup Chopped Cilantro
- β1 tsp Salt

Soak the corn husks in water for at least 30 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the masa, lard or shortening, and chicken broth. Mix until a dough forms.

In a separate bowl, mix the chicken filling ingredients.

To assemble the tamales, spread a thin layer of the dough onto a corn husk, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Place a tablespoon of the chicken filling in the center of the dough.

Fold the sides of the corn husk over the filling, and then roll the tamale up, folding the top over to seal.

Repeat with the remaining dough and filling ingredients.

Steam the tamales for 1-2 hours, or until the dough is cooked through and the filling is hot.

Serve the tamales with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of cilantro.
