Ukrainian Fatty Dumplings
Tender, flavorful dumplings filled with a rich, savory mix, served with a side of steamed vegetables.
Ingredients
- ●2 cups all-purpose flourfor dumpling dough
- ●1/2 cup fattyfor filling
- ●1/2 cup ukrainianfor filling
- ●1 tsp saltto taste
- ●1 cup waterfor dumpling dough
- ●2 tbsp vegetable oilfor cooking
- ●1 medium onionfor filling
- ●2 cloves garlicfor filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add water, mixing until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let rest for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sautéing until softened.

Add fatty and ukrainian to the pan, mixing well. Season with salt to taste.

Divide the rested dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle.

Place a tablespoon of the filling mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling, pressing edges to seal.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Gently add the dumplings, cooking for 5-7 minutes or until they float to the surface.

Serve the dumplings hot with steamed vegetables.
