Croatian Pork Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew originating from Croatia, featuring tender pork and a rich garlic broth.
Ingredients
- ●2 lb 2 pounds pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch cubesFat cap side up

- ●1 cup 1 cup stew brothStore-bought or homemade
- ●1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon tomato pasteRich flavor
- ●1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon paprikaHungarian staple

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the pork cubes until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add another tablespoon of oil if needed and sauté the chopped onion until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the sliced carrots and cook for 5 minutes, until slightly tender.

Add the cubed potatoes, browned pork, stew broth, tomato paste, and paprika to the pot.

Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1.5 hours or until pork is tender.
