German Apple Tart
A sweet and crumbly tart filled with caramelized apples, perfect for a dessert or snack.

- β4-6 ApplesGranny Smith or other tart variety

- β1/2 cup Brown sugarpacked
- β1/4 teaspoon Cinnamonground
- β1/8 teaspoon Nutmegground

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the German pastry dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

Transfer the dough to a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom.

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.

Arrange the apple mixture in the tart shell, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Dot the top of the apple mixture with the butter.

Roll out the remaining pastry dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch. Use a pastry cutter or a knife to cut the dough into strips for a lattice-top crust.

Place the lattice strips on top of the apple mixture, weaving them into a lattice pattern.

Trim the edges of the lattice strips and press the edges of the lattice to seal.

Bake the tart for 40-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
