Traditional German Lasagna
A classic German twist on the Italian classic, featuring layers of ground meat and vegetables.
Ingredients
- β1 pound ground polish sausagecasings removed
- β8-10 sheets lasagna noodles
- β2 cups kissed shredded mozzarella cheese
- β2 cups vegetable tomato sauce
- β1 cup milkoptional
- β2 eggsbeaten
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.

In a large skillet, cook the ground polish sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Once the sausage is browned, add the vegetable tomato sauce and stir to combine.

In a large bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese and milk (if using). Stir to combine.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, create a layer of the tomato sauce mixture.

Arrange 4 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.

Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles.

Repeat the layers, starting with the noodles, then the sauce, then the remaining cheese mixture.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
