Smoked Salmon French Jjigae
A unique French-inspired jjigae dish featuring smoked salmon, perfect for a dinner party.
Ingredients
- ●250g smoked salmonpreferably Scottish smoked salmon
- ●2 tbsp scottishScottish whisky or other whisky of choice
- ●1 medium onionchopped
- ●2 cloves garlicminced
- ●1 donabetraditional Japanese clay pot
- ●2 tbsp withvegetable oil
- ●1 tsp kisseddried thyme
- ●1 tsp claydried clay or earthenware powder (for earthy flavor)

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In the donabe, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and sauté the onion until translucent.

Add the garlic and sauté for an additional minute.

Add the smoked salmon and stir to combine with the onion and garlic.

Pour in the Scottish whisky, scraping the bottom of the pot to release all the flavorful bits.

Add the thyme and clay powder, stirring to combine.

Cover the donabe and transfer it to the preheated oven.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.

Serve immediately, garnished with additional thyme if desired.
