Filipino Stew with Comte Cheese
A flavorful Filipino-inspired stew made with tender beef, umami-rich soy sauce, and melted Comte cheese. Serve with steamed rice.

- β2 tablespoons soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon fish sauce
- β1 tablespoon sugar
- β1 teaspoon black pepper
- β1 cup Comte cheeseshredded

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.

Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar to the pot and stir to combine.

Return the beef to the pot and bring the mixture to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
