Tonkatsu Donburi
A classic Japanese dish of breaded and fried pork cutlet served over a bed of rice.
Ingredients
- β4 oz Pork cutlet
- β1 cup All-purpose flour
- β1 cup Breadcrumbs
- β1 Egg
- β2 tbsp Tonkatsu sauce
- β1 cup Cooked Japanese ricepreferably short-grain rice
- β1/4 cup Green onions
- β1 tsp Sesame seeds
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Pepper
Instructions

Season the pork cutlet with salt and pepper.

Dip the pork cutlet in flour, coating evenly.

Dip the floured pork cutlet in the egg, making sure it's fully coated.

Dredge the egg-coated pork cutlet in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Heat about 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

When the oil is hot, add the breaded pork cutlet and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Remove the pork cutlet from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Cook Japanese rice according to package instructions.

To assemble the donburi, place a scoop of cooked rice in a bowl, followed by the fried pork cutlet, and finally top with green onions and sesame seeds.

Drizzle with tonkatsu sauce and serve immediately.
