A Classic British Apple Pie
A traditional British dessert filled with tender apples and topped with a crumbly crust. Perfect for a warm and comforting treat.
Ingredients
- ●3 Apples
- ●2 cups All-purpose Flour
- ●1 cup Cold Butter
- ●1 cup Granulated Sugar
- ●1 Eggs
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
- 3
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
- 4
Add the cold butter and use a pastry blender or your fingertips to work it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 5
Add the eggs and stir until the dough comes together in a ball.
- 6
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
- 7
Transfer the dough to a 9-inch pie dish and trim the edges to fit.
- 8
Fill the pie crust with the sliced apples and dot the top with a little bit of butter.
- 9
Roll out the remaining dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch and use it to cover the pie. Crimp the edges to seal.
- 10
Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
- 11
Bake the pie for 40-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- 12
Let the pie cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
