Tunisian Shrimp Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic stew originating from Tunisia, made with succulent shrimp, rich tagine paste, and exotic spices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound shrimppeeled and deveined
- β2 tablespoons tunisian tagine paste
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon kapi (chili flakes)
- β1 teaspoon cumin
- β1 teaspoon coriander
- βto taste salt
- βchopped (for garnish) fresh cilantro
Instructions

Heat the oil in a large clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add the onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the tagine paste and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.

Add the kapi, cumin, coriander, and salt. Stir to combine.

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and serve over couscous.
