Tunisian Lemon Chicken Tagine
A flavorful North African-inspired dish made with chicken, lemons, and spices in a rich and aromatic sauce, served over couscous.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken breastsboneless, skinless
- β2 lemonjuiced
- β2 teaspoons tunisian spice blend
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 chili peppersdiced
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tablespoon herbchopped
Instructions

Heat the oil in the bottom of a large clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add the spice blend and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the chili peppers and garlic and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Add the lemon juice and bring to a simmer.

Cover the tagine and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Stir in the chopped herb and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot over couscous, garnished with additional herb if desired.
