Argentinian Beef Empanadas
A classic South American pastry filled with seasoned beef, onions, and spices. Perfect for a casual dinner or snack.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β2 cups All-purpose flourFor pastry dough
- β1 teaspoon SaltTo taste
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepperTo taste
- β2 tablespoons Light olive oilFor brushing pastry
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, about 5 minutes.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Roll out the pastry dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a tablespoon of beef mixture in the center of each dough circle.

Brush the edges of the dough with light olive oil and fold the pastry in half to form a triangle.
