Kenyan-Style Ssam Wrap
A fusion of Kenyan and Korean flavors in a crispy, savory wrap.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups Kenyan masarepacoarse cornmeal
- β4-6 leaves Light ssamlarge lettuce leaves
- β1/4 cup Liquid wrapthinly sliced, lightly sweetened
- β1/2 cup Ssam fillingmarinated, grilled chicken
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Pepper
- βto taste Optional: kimchi, avocado

Prepare the masarepa dough by mixing 1 1/2 cups of cornmeal with 1/4 cup of water.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes until it becomes pliable.

Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.

Flatten each ball into a thin circle, about 1/8 inch thick.

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Cook each wrap for 1-2 minutes on each side, until lightly browned and crispy.

Assemble the ssam wrap by placing a piece of masarepa on a lettuce leaf.

Add a few slices of marinated, grilled chicken, some thinly sliced wrap, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
