Slovakian Wonton Dumplings Recipe
A traditional Slovakian dish with a twist, using wonton wrappers instead of traditional dumpling dough.
Ingredients
- β 2 cups water
- β 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- β 1 small onion, finely chopped
- β 2 cloves garlic, minced
- β 1 pound ground pork
- β 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- β 1 egg, beaten
- β 1 package wonton wrappers (about 20-24 wrappers)
Instructions
- 1
In a large pot of boiling water, cook the chopped onion and garlic until softened.
- 2
In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, flour, egg, and cooked onion mixture. Mix well to combine.
- 3
Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place a tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper.
- 4
Brush the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold the wrapper into a triangle and press the edges together to seal.
- 5
Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- 6
In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add a few of the wonton dumplings to the pan.
- 7
Cook the dumplings for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 8
Remove the dumplings from the pan and repeat with the remaining dumplings.
- 9
Serve the wonton dumplings hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
