Venezuelan Semolina Empanadas
A traditional Venezuelan dish, these semolina empanadas make for a satisfying snack or light meal, perfect for any time of day.
Ingredients

- β1 cup lightly fried onions
- β1 cup water
- β1 tsp salt
- β1 tbsp vegetable oil
- β1/4 cup optional cheese fillingsee notes
Instructions

Preheat a deep frying pan with oil over medium heat.

Combine semolina flour and salt in a large bowl.

Gradually add water and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth and pliable.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a ball and flatten slightly into a disk shape.
