Mapo Tofu Stir Fry
A classic Sichuan dish made with tofu, chili peppers, and spices. Quick and easy to make, this recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 block Tofu (mapo tofu)
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- β2 inches Ginger
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorns
- β2 tablespoons Light soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon Sesame oil
- β2-3 Chili peppers (dried or fresh)
- β1/4 cup Green onions
Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the ginger and garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.

Add the Sichuan peppercorns and stir-fry for another 30 seconds.

Add the tofu and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until it starts to brown.

Add the light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and sesame oil, and stir-fry for another minute.

Add the chili peppers and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, until they start to soften.

Stir in the green onions and serve immediately.

Cook the tofu to an internal temperature of at least 165Β°F (74Β°C) to ensure food safety.
