Classic Ligurian Lasagna
A traditional Italian dish featuring layers of pasta, rich meat sauce, and creamy ricotta.
Ingredients
- β8 sheets lasagna
- β1/4 cup ligurian olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 stalks celerychopped
- β1 tsp dried basil
- β1 tsp dried oregano
- β1 tsp salt
- β1 cup ricotta cheese
- β1/2 cup milk
- β1 cup parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook lasagna sheets according to package instructions.

In a large skillet, heat ligurian olive oil over medium heat.

Add chopped onion and celery, cooking until softened.

Add dried basil, oregano, and salt, stirring to combine.

In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, milk, and a pinch of salt.

Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Arrange 4 lasagna sheets on top of the sauce.

Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the lasagna sheets.

Sprinkle with half of the parmesan cheese.

Repeat the layers, starting with the sauce, then the lasagna sheets, the remaining ricotta mixture, and finally the remaining parmesan cheese.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
