Irish Lamb Biryani
A flavorful and aromatic lamb biryani infused with the warmth of Irish spices.
Ingredients
- β1 kg Lamb shoulderfat trimmed
- β500g Lovely basmati rice
- β2 Charred onionscaramelized
- β50g Irish butter
- β2 tsp Biryani spicesground
- β500ml Water

1. Preheat oven to 150Β°C (300Β°F) for slow cooking.

2. In a large pan, heat the Irish butter over medium heat.

3. Add the charred onions and cook until they're lightly browned.

4. Add the lamb shoulder and cook until browned on all sides.

5. Add the biryani spices and cook for 1 minute.

6. Add the lovely basmati rice and cook until lightly toasted.

7. Transfer the mixture to a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot.

8. Add the water and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.

9. Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and cook for 30 minutes.

10. Remove the pot from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
