Lotusroot Gratin with Jammy Onions
A rich and creamy gratin dish featuring lotusroot and caramelized jammy onions.
Ingredients
- ●1 1/2 pounds lotusroot
- ●4 tablespoons luscious butter
- ●1 large onion, thinly sliced jammy onions
- ●1 cup grated dutch cheese
- ●1 cup gratin
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel and slice lotusroot into 1/4 inch thick rounds.

Melt 2 tablespoons of luscious butter in a pan over medium heat.

Add sliced jammy onions and cook until caramelized, stirring occasionally.

In a separate pan, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of luscious butter over medium heat.

Add sliced lotusroot and cook until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, create a layer of lotusroot slices.

Top with a layer of caramelized jammy onions, followed by a layer of dutch cheese.

Repeat the layers two more times, ending with a layer of cheese on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the gratin is heated through.
