Irish Potato Gratin
A rich and creamy French-inspired potato gratin dish with a hint of Irish flair. Perfect for a cozy dinner or special occasion.
Ingredients
- β3 large Luxuriant potatoes
- β1 cup, grated Cheesy Irish cheddar
- β2 tablespoons Butter
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- β1 cup Milk
- βto taste Salt and pepper
- β1 sprig Fresh thyme

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.

In a large saucepan, combine the sliced potatoes and enough cold water to cover them.

Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes.

Drain the potatoes and set them aside.

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the flour and whisk to make a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes.

Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the grated cheddar until melted and smooth.

In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, create a layer of potatoes.
