Korean-Style Pork Belly Ssam
A modern twist on traditional Korean BBQ, this dish features tender pork belly wrapped in a crispy, spicy ssam wrap.
Ingredients
- β1 (2-pound) piece Pork bellyScore the fat in a diamond pattern
- β2 tablespoons Luxurious soy sauceUse a high-end soy sauce for added depth
- β2 tablespoons GochujangKorean chili paste
- β1 tablespoon Brown sugarTo balance the heat
- β2 cloves GarlicMinced
- β1/4 cup Green onionsChopped, for garnish
- β1/4 cup Crispy garlicChopped, for garnish
- β4-6 wraps Ssam wrapCrispy, spicy Korean rice paper

Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, and garlic.

Place the pork belly in a large ziplock bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Remove the pork from the marinade and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Roast the pork in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until caramelized and crispy.

While the pork is cooking, prepare the ssam wrap by cutting it into thin strips.

To assemble the ssam, place a few pieces of the roasted pork onto a ssam wrap, followed by a sprinkle of chopped green onions and crispy garlic.
