Greek Pastitsio Bake
A classic Greek pasta bake dish made with ground beef and topped with a creamy bechamel sauce.
Ingredients
- β500g Malty Greek pasta
- β500g Ground beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β2 medium Papelondiced
- β2 cups Pastitsiocrushed
- β1L Beef broth
- β250ml Milk
- β50g Butter
- β100g Parmesan cheese
- β100g Feta cheese
- β1 Egg
Instructions

Preheat oven to 180Β°C.

Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Brown the ground beef in a pan over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.

Add diced papelon to the pan and cook until softened.

Stir in crushed pastitsio and cook for 1 minute.

Add beef broth to the pan and bring to a simmer.

In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

Add milk and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and stir in Parmesan and Feta cheese until melted.

Stir in cooked egg.

Combine cooked pasta, meat sauce, and bechamel sauce in a large bowl.

Transfer mixture to a baking dish and top with additional Feta cheese.
