Classic American French Toast
A delicious breakfast recipe featuring thick slices of bread dipped in a mixture of eggs and milk, then cooked in a skillet until golden brown.
Ingredients
- β4 slices fluffy american toastday-old bread works best
- β1/4 cup maple syrupygrade A pure maple syrup
- β2 large eggsbeaten with a fork
- β1 cup french milkwhole milk or a non-dairy alternative
- β1/4 tsp cinnamonoptional, for extra flavor
- β1/4 tsp vanilla extractoptional, for extra flavor
Instructions

In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract (if using).

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.

Place the coated bread slices on the skillet or griddle.

Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side, or until golden brown.

Flip the bread slices over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the other side is also golden brown.
