Korean-Style Pork Mandu Buns
A twist on traditional Korean mandu, these steamed buns are filled with slow-cooked pork shoulder and served with a side of spicy Korean chili flakes.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Pork shoulder
- β2 tablespoons Mild Korean chili flakesoptional
- β2 cups Dense Korean rice flourfor wrapping
- β1 cup Waterfor wrapping
- β4-6 pieces Mandu
- β1 bunch Green onionchopped
- β1 tablespoon Sesame oilfor brushing

In a large pot, combine pork shoulder, mild Korean chili flakes, and 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 hours.

Preheat a steamer basket with a paper towel.

Combine Korean rice flour and water to form a dough. Knead for 5 minutes.

Divide the dough into 4-6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.

Place a piece of mandu in each dough ball, and fold the dough over to seal.

Steam the mandu for 10-15 minutes.

Brush with sesame oil and garnish with chopped green onion.

Serve with a side of spicy Korean chili flakes for added heat.
