Indian-Style Lentil Tacos
A flavorful twist on traditional tacos, featuring sautéed lentils and spices, served in a crispy taco shell.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup mild indian dhalred or yellow lentils work well
- ●1/4 cup dalsplit red or yellow lentils
- ●1 medium onion
- ●2 cloves garlic
- ●1 tsp cumin
- ●1 tsp chili powder
- ●to taste salt
- ●6-8 taco shells
- ●1 cup shredded cheese
- ●1/2 cup sour cream

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add cumin, chili powder, and salt. Cook for 1 minute.

Add dhal and dal. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

Stir in 2 cups water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until lentils are tender.

Warm taco shells according to package instructions.

Spoon lentil mixture into taco shells.
